- What Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule is and what it is used for?
This product contains 400mg of Ibuprofen. It belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs provide relief by changing the body’s response to pain, swelling and high temperature. Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsules are used for the effective relief of fever and pain, such as headaches and migraine pain, nerve pain, backache, period pain, rheumatic and muscular pain, cold and flu symptoms and dental pain.
- What you need to know before you take Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule:
- Do not take Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule if you:
- Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Ibuprofen, or any of the other ingredients of Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule.
- Have severe kidney or liver problems.
- Have had a worsening of asthma, allergic rash or itchy, runny nose or facial swelling when taking similar medicines.
If you are not sure about any of the above, please consult your doctor.
- Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about taking Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule if you:
- Have (or have had two or more episodes of) a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
- Are taking other NSAIDs
- Have or have had asthma
- If symptoms persist or worsen
- Other medicines and Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
- How to take Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Do not take this medicine for longer than 10 days unless your doctor tells you to. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if any new symptoms occur, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not chew.
- Possible side effects of Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The side effects depend on the dose and the duration of treatment. The most common side effects are upset stomach, mild heartburn, nausea, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, headache, decreased appetite, mild itching or rash, or ringing in your ears. STOP taking Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule if you notice signs of an allergic reaction immediately.
- How to store Ibuprofen soft gelatin capsule:
– Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
– Store your medicine in the original packaging in order to protect from moisture.
– Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label after ‘EXP’.
– The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
