Citicoline solution for injection is a clear, colorless, sterile aqueous solution filled in 2mL clear ampules. Citicoline is a complex organic molecule that functions as an intermediate in the biosynthesis of cell membrane phospholipids. It increases the blood flow in brain and is used in the treatment of cerbro-vascular disorders such as ischemic stroke and head injury.

- Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Citicoline or any of the other ingredients in Citicoline solution for injection.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
- How to use Citicoline solution for injection:
This solution is only to be injected in a hospital. Citicoline solution for injection can be injected through intravenous infusion, intravenous slow injection or intramuscular injection. Direct intravenous administration should be made very slowly to prevent episodes of hypotension.
- Possible side effects of Citicoline solution for injection:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The side effects depend on the dose and the duration of treatment. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal side effects (Stomach pain or diarrhea) and cardiovascular side effects (hypotension, tachycardia or bradycardia).
- How to store Citicoline solution for injection:
– Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
– Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 C and in the original package in order to protect from light and moisture.
– Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister after ‘EXP’.
– The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
